The Snowy Mountains Region of New South Wales includes the well known ski towns of Thredbo and Perisher. It contains the mainland's highest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko, which reaches to a height of 2,228 m above sea level.
In summer activities include mountain biking and bushwalking, fly fishing and horse riding.
The area experiences large natural snowfalls every winter. Snow usually falls between June and early September. Summer temperature ranges from 6℃ up to 20℃. In winter the range is -5℃ up to 4℃.
