My wife and I travelled to ivory palms resort last September. We have two young children. Our first impression was of the neatness and well maintained nature of the resort, its grounds, pools, tennis courts and facilities and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves. The on site manager was really helpful and showed us to our two bedroom unit and how everything worked and he also mentioned the local attractions which was really helpful. Our unit was lovely and had just been repainted and it looked great and we were very comfortable. The three pools are great for the kids as are the tennis courts and the complex is just over the road from the yacht club and a reserve with plenty of kids play equipment. We found a lovely Thai restaurant just down the road and the nearby marina with shops was just great. It`s also quite close to Hastings Street-we liked it so much we`re going again next month-I hear they now have cable TV in most rooms so that will be great for the kids.

We travelled to Ivory Palms Resort in Noosaville in September 2003, after spending 10 glorious days at Turtle Beach Resort Surfers Paradise. We were terribly disappointed with the standard of accommodation we received. The apartment was nothing like the modern corrigated iron and stone looking complex depicted in all the travel brochures and on the net. This rooms were all one bedrooms. As we required a two bedroom apartment, we were relegated to the other side of the resort which I estimate to be at least 20 years old. Granted they had tried to refurbish them, but the kitchen and bathroom were dated and to be honest quite dirty. The facilities eg: pools and tennis courts were excellent but this did little to make up for the fact that we didn't recieve the standard of accommodation we expected for the money we paid. The moral is don't assume that what you read in travel brochures and on web sites is necessary the truth!
