After reading all the bad comments on Phuket and little ones I have decided to add a little something of my own.
Resort: Rydges, Phuket
Years travelled: 1996, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2004 and again soon..
Childrens ages: now 6 and 4 they went every time. Not 96 ,97, 98 but all other years
After going to Phuket 3 times alone or should I say without children we decided to have a go with a 2 and half year old and a 6 month old. My parents also loved the place and decided to come along. The flight left very early in the morning or very late at night. But with 2 extra pairs of hands managed to rock them at the airport in our arms. The plane trip was great children sleep, mum and dad a wake. Charging is never fun but I had dressed them and they were wide a wake and enjoyed looking at the planes. With only a 1.5 flight into Phuket it was fine we arrived hotel nice, kids tried, very friendly.... kids adored..shopping fun, trip to the zoo , shopping more shopping. Food for the money was great quality... Where we stay is a little far out and a car is highly recommended.
Went again in 2004, children 2.5 and 4.5 great kids had a ball... kids club ... child minding and my mum and dad just a great holiday.... easy to drive in this place heaps to see and do and relax it is easy breakfast taken care of lunch some chips and dinner any thing you like.. love the place going again in 2006....can't wait and either can the kids... and my mum and dad...
