We recently stayed at PALM BEACH VILLAS at Palm Cove in Queensland - and we highly recommend it as a very baby friendly destination. We travelled with our 9 month old daughter and found this place to be very friendly with lots of kids around (but still very private as each villa is completely self contained). The villas are large, clean, have proper kitchens etc... so you can feel comfortable for a longer stay (we ended up staying 9 nights). Also, we got a villa with a pool so we could swim while bub slept, which was great. The people who run it are also very nice. The only thing is that it is not as close to the beach as other properties so unless you really don't mind walking or have a car - it is probably not the best. The other thing is that the villas differ in configuration so different set-ups might suit different people - just ask Ruth the owner , she's very helpful. Lastly (and I don't mean to make it sound bad b/c it was really very good was that we stayed in two different villas and one of them was quite noisy. Funnily enough though the noise was twofold - one from cars and secondly from the birds - they were sooo loud!). All in all though, I would highly recommend it though to anyone travelling with babies / kids. We didn't want to leave and would definitely go back again. Look them up on the web!!!! Oh.... Palm Cove itself is great too!

We have recently stayed at Palm Beach Villas at Palm Cove.  We had a 2 bedroom apartment and the accommodation could not have been better - it was large and light and tastefully furnished and above all, safe for  toddlers (we went with our 16 month old) - no steps or dangers of any kind. Their pool was being renovated when we arrived (it was finished about 1/2 way through our stay) so we were upgraded to a villa with its own pool which was just fantastic as we could swim and sit around the pool whilst our son slept in the middle of the day. Our stay was definitely enhanced by Ruth at Palm Beach Villas who recommended day trips, and booked snorkelling, car hire and our trip to Kuranda and arranged transfers, always bearing in mind our need to economise! The only drawback was that the villas are quite a walk to the beach (about 1km).  Whilst we were there the beach itself was a bit windy and the water not the tropical blue we had hoped for.  In May, there is still a stinger net up so you could only swim in one spot. The playground on the beach was really good for kids of many ages and the cafes/restaurants were really nice and most catered for kids. It was great to stay somewhere so quiet - we hired a car one day and drove to Cape Tribulation coming back through Port Douglas which I could not believe had turned into almost a small city since I was last there about 8 years ago.   I hope this is useful. I found your website helpful when trying to decide where to stay.
