I would like to let you know about our recent
holiday experience at Cedar Creek Lodges at Mt Tamborine Qld. We booked our
holidays after seeing it on your website. We wanted a place with a pool, kids
club, and lots of activities for the kids. However, we did not get what we
expected. The pool was covered in "Duck Poo", so the kids didn't want to use it.
The first morning we were there, the water pump broke down so we couldn't flush
the toilet or have a shower. We tried to leave the place, and retrieve some of
our "wasted money", but the manager would not give in, even though the place was
'deserted". I must say, that we were given some free passes to Movieworld, by
the manager, and she did get the pool cleaned, but we were still really
disappointed with the whole so-called "resort". We didn't even have a decent
television, and you could only use the in-house movies if someone was at
reception, which was hardly ever open at night.
A kids club was advertised, but it did not run
at all during our 9 night stay (which was during school holidays), as there were
no kids around. There were not many adults either, unless they were attending a
function there, or if they were just passing through.
My kids were so bored, we had to go to the gold
coast to hire some bikes, and buy a footy to kick, as there was not much else to
do. The restaurant did not really cater for kids either, but my partner wouldn't
go to the restaurant as there were 3 great big dogs roaming around the
restaurant during the day. I have been to other resorts in Qld, and have always
had a fantastic time, and I thought this might be a bit different, being in a
"Rainforest" atmosphere.
We only get to go away once a year, and we have
a pretty tight budget, so this experience was very disappointing. I hope no
other family wastes their money by staying at this particular place.
